Reading Wiscohana
You do not need an account to read our stories, and public account registration is closed.
When you visit, our website and hosting provider, Hostinger, receive the technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the service. This can include your IP address, browser information, the page requested, and the time of the request. Technical information may also appear in operational and security records.
Search requests are part of the website address and may appear in those records. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into Search.
Analytics
Wiscohana does not currently use website analytics or advertising tracking for ordinary public visits. If we add optional analytics in the future, we will update this Privacy page and provide appropriate reader choices before enabling that measurement.
Contacting us
The Contact form asks for your email address and message. You may also provide your name and a subject. Please share only what is needed for your inquiry.
The form processes your message through our WordPress website and emails it to wiscohana@icloud.com. Our hosting and email providers, including Apple’s iCloud Mail, process the message to deliver and store the correspondence.
We do not keep a separate form-entry archive in WordPress or use WPForms’ cloud entry backups. The website may retain a count of submissions.
We use correspondence to respond and handle the matter you raise. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a mailing list or give permission to publish your message.
We review completed correspondence periodically and remove messages that no longer have a justified purpose. Some correspondence may need to be kept longer—for example, an ongoing inquiry, a correction, or permission to use material. Copies may remain in email systems or backups according to those services’ retention processes.
You can also email us directly instead of using the form.
Protecting the Contact form
The Contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated spam and abuse.
When reCAPTCHA loads or you interact with it, Google receives technical and interaction information used for its security checks, including your IP address and browser information. It uses a security cookie. The website also sends a verification token to Google to check the submission.

Videos and external websites
Some stories include video hosted by YouTube. We show a placeholder first and load the YouTube player only when you choose to load the video.
Loading the player connects your browser to YouTube. YouTube then receives technical information and may use cookies or other browser storage. We use its privacy-enhanced player, but that does not eliminate all data processing. You can read the rest of the story without loading the video.
Links to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Historical comments
New comments are closed.
We preserve historical comment records as part of the website archive. Those records can include the comment, the name and email address supplied, a website address, submission time, IP address, and browser information.
Historical comments are not displayed publicly at launch. If a historical comment concerns your information, contact us so we can review your request.
Cookies and similar storage
Cookies and browser storage can support security or provide a feature you choose to use, such as the Contact form or an external video.
People who sign in to manage Wiscohana also use WordPress authentication and preference cookies. These are different from ordinary reader activity.
You can use your browser’s controls to block or clear cookies and website storage. Doing so may affect features such as the Contact form or sign-in.

Send requests to wiscohana@icloud.com. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record and confirm that it concerns you. We will explain any limits that affect a request, including necessary records or copies held in provider systems.
